READ Lakeland's annual 'Kiss the Pig' fundraising campaign kicks off on March 27th. This six-week campaign to increase literacy awareness finishes with a PIGGY SMOOCH at the 'Grand Smooch Finale' on May 8th, 2025! We are looking for candidates in hopes of surpassing our goal of $50,000 and making this year our most successful yet!

Founded in 1995, READ Lakeland, Inc is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community through teaching basic literacy skills to adult nonreaders and promoting adult literacy. We offer one-to-one tutoring and small group instruction to an estimated 24% of adults in Lakeland who are functioning at the lowest levels of literacy. READ Lakeland helps those who cannot read medical instructions, fill out an employment application, or read a simple story to a child. With over 100 volunteers, we offer FREE tutoring and services to those wanting to improve their skills
